Pastoral Care is a primary ministry for the people of St. Virgil parish Pastoral Care is provided by members of the staff. Hospital Ministry A member of the Pastoral Care staff visits Morristown Memorial Hospital. Because of patient privacy the Morristown Memorial Hospital does not contact the Parish regarding admission unless there is a request from the patient. Please contact the parish office if you or family members are a patient at the hospital. To be included in staff visits at the hospital, please contact Barbara Trimiglozzi at 973-538-1418 ext 221 Or e-mail: pastoralcare@stvirgil.org Morris View Nursing Home Ministry A team of parish volunteers assists on Tuesday mornings in bringing residents to Chapel for Mass. Communion is brought to the bedside or unit of those who are unable to attend. The parish also participates in providing fresh fruit for residents one Sunday a month and baked goods one Wednesday a month, which is distributed to the residents by the volunteers. Those who suffer a loss are supported each month for one year with a newsletter to help them during this difficult time. Eucharistic ministers bring Holy Communion to those at home, in nursing homes or in other care facilities, helping to provide spiritual support to the homebound and a feeling of closeness to the larger parish community. Contact: Barbara Trimiglozzi at 973-538-1418 ext 221 Or e-mail: pastoralcare@stvirgil.org Prayer Shawl Ministry Care and the love of knitting and crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are worked into every stitch of the shawl. Shawls have been used for centuries as universal and embracing symbols of an unconditionally loving God.
